Who Was Dr. Rajendra Prasad?
Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the great son of Dr. Mahadev Sahai. He entered this world on 3rd December 1884 in Zeradei which is Siwan, Bihar, India. Dr. Prasad was the youngest member of the large family and that’s why he was extremely loved by everyone. But Dr. Prasad was quite near to his older brother named Mahendra and his mother. In the diverse population of Zeradei, individuals live together very peacefully and without any discrimination. Dr. Prasad tied the wedding knot with Rajvanshi Devi at the young age of 12. Talking about studies he was a brilliant student who was awarded many times with scholarship due to his intelligence.

When he studied at the University of Calcutta he got a monthly scholarship of Rs 30 after he bagged 1st place in the entrance examination at the university. In the year 1902, he got the entry into the prestigious Calcutta Presidential College. In the year 1905, another leader Gopal Krishna Gokhale established the Society of Indian Servants in the year 1905 and also invited Dr. Prasad to become a part of this society.

Though his commitment to the family was quite strong that after much thinking he denied Gokhale. The choice was tough and the decision was quite difficult for him. He remembered and said “I was very sad as my grades dropped for the 1st time in my entire life as I rarely passed my law examination. After watching this he decided to focus on his studies rather than anything else. In the year 1915 he cracked his LLM with honors and with the hard work he bagged the gold medal. After that Dr. Prasad got his Juris Doctor degree.
